Providence Healthcare Foundation to hold inaugural Providence Way Walk & Roll on September 26

Lace up, roll in, and join us for The Providence Way Walk & Roll on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at Providence Healthcare. The inaugural community fundraising event features an accessible route of up to 5 km, open to walkers, rollers, and strollers of all abilities.

The event is designed to reflect “The Providence Way”—a culture of deeply personalized care where every person who enters our doors is seen, supported, and respected. The Providence Way extends beyond clinical care, with staff helping patients through difficult moments and walking alongside them as they reclaim their lives, restore their strength, and inspire new hope.

“The Providence Way is how we all show up for each other, the same way our health teams show up for every patient, resident, and client,” says Lindsay Tarvit, Director of Development at Providence Healthcare Foundation. “Whether you’re walking in honour of a loved one, celebrating a colleague, or simply ready to move with purpose, there’s a place for you here. Every stride and every person makes a difference.”

In addition to the walk and roll, the event will include a BBQ, a wellness fair, and the opportunity to meet the people at the heart of Providence.

“Every day I’m so inspired by the way our teams show up with compassion, commitment, and pride in the care they provide,” says Lindsay Martinek, Senior Clinical Program Director at Providence. “That’s why I’m honoured to walk alongside my colleagues and friends on September 26. I’m looking forward to staff, families, and our community coming together to support care that is truly personalized and accessible.”

The Foundation aims to raise $50,000 through participant fundraising, registration fees, and sponsorships—all of which will support Providence’s highest priority needs.

With no minimum fundraising requirement, participants are invited to register, share their connection to Providence, and raise funds through their own networks ahead of event day. Registration fees are $50 for adults and $20 for youth aged 13 to 17; children 12 and under can participate for free. Sign up to learn more!

We are currently recruiting community partners, sponsors, and champions. If you are interested in becoming involved in a meaningful way, please contact Vanessa Chui, Associate Director, Community Partnerships, Providence Healthcare Foundation, at community@phcf.ca.
